Ardbeg Blasda Limited Release Description
Released in 2008, this limited edition expression from Islay's Ardbeg distillery is one of the most unusual expressions to come out of the distillery. Crafted with whisky peated to just 8ppm, compared with Ardbeg's usual 50-55ppm, this release explores the lighter side of Ardbeg. Taking its name from the Scots Gaelic for 'sweet and delicious', Blasda set out to go against the distillery's own conventions to explore the character of the malt, and is presented chill-filtered (unusually for Ardbeg) at a strength of 40% abv.
