Distilled on the Isle of Islay at Ardbeg, this release was bottled exclusively for the Ardbeg committee and was the first release of a series called The Path to Peaty Maturity. This expression was distilled in 1997 and was put down to mature for 6 years in first fill oak casks before being bottled free from chill filtration at a natural cask strength of 58.9% abv.
