This release from Bruichladdich's Octomore range of super heavily peated whiskies was the first edition to be distilled exclusively from 100% Islay barley. Grown on the Lorgba field of Octomore Farm by James Brown, the barley was peated to a massive 258ppm - the highest level ever seen in the whisky industry at the time. Bottled at 5 years old, this expression was limited to just 18,000 bottles and was presented at 64% abv. Not for the faint of heart. Back to top
