Macallan Decades - Forties Description
Part of the Travel Series from The Macallan recreating the distillery style of each decade from the 1920s to the 1950s, this expression is presented as a 50cl bottle. The 1940s brought a shortage of sherry casks during the Second World War, and the distillery was forced to use refill casks more often. The Macallan Master Distiller, David Robertson, sought to recreate that style by matching samples of 1940s bottles to more recent distillations. Back to top
