This single cask expression was released in 2018 as part of the fourth (and penultimate) chapter in the DCS Compendium – a series of limited editions hand-selected by The Balvenie Malt Master, David C. Stewart OBE, to showcase different aspects of the craft, benefiting from his decades of experience in the industry.
This release came under the title of 'Expecting the Unexpected' and was distilled in July 1999. Unusually this expression has been matured in a refill American oak hogshead that had its ends toasted. Bottled at 18 years old, this Speyside single malt was limited to just 132 bottles upon its release. Back to top
