This limited edition was released early in 2011, preceding the wider release later that year. Crafted with 10-year-old ex-bourbon cask matured Ardbeg and spirit matured in heavily-charred virgin American oak casks; the latter cask type begins to crack and peel into a rough and shiny pattern akin to alligator scales, imparting darker colour and higher level of spice to the liquid.
