Karuizawa 31 Year Old Single Cask #3558 The Sapphire Geisha - TWE

In February 2020, The Whisky Exchange unveiled the fifth instalment in the Karuizawa Geisha series: The Sapphire Geishas, two Japanese cask-bottlings aged 31 and 36 years old. Exclusive to The Whisky Exchange and bottled by Elixir Distillers, these bottlings mark what would have been Karuizawa’s 65th anniversary (the distillery ceased production in 2000 and was demolished in 2006), also known as its Sapphire Jubilee. Two decades after its closure, Karuizawa still carries a legacy of being one of the best whiskies ever produced. This 31 year old bottling has spent its whole life in a sherry cask before moving into a glass demijohn. Only 146 bottles have been produced.
