Distilled at Old Forester distillery in Louiseville, Kentucky, they have been in production since 1870 with this expression being produced in the style created during prohibition. When prohibition was initiated in 1920, it was granted just six distilleries could continue to produce and bottle bourbon for medicinal purposes - with Old Forester being one of those six. At that time, everything had to bottled at 50% abv. this 1920 expression has been bottled at a strength of 57.5% abv. to represent the rich profile this bourbon would have had at that time.
