Highland Park 1998 19 Year Old Single Cask #7667 Keepers of the Quaich Description

The third-ever bottling for the Keepers of the Quaich was selected by Gordon Motion and Director, Annabel Meikle, from a selection of cask samples from Highland Park distillery on Orkney. This refill American hogshead was filled in November 1998 and bottled in June 2018 as a 19-year-old whisky. It was bottled at a cask strength of 55.7% abv without chill-filtration. The spirit has not been chill-filtered and has been bottled at 55.7%. The outturn of the cask yielded 297 bottles.

Fun fact: 1998 was the year Doddie won the Premiership Title with the Newcastle Falcons.

Each winner of a bottle from Doddie's auction will receive two complimentary Glencairn glasses, branded with the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation logo (pictured on homepage)!

This bottle has been kindly noticed by Peter Prentice, Chairman of the Keepers of the Quaich.

Doddie Weir OBE is one of rugby’s most recognizable personalities. He earned 61 caps for Scotland during a successful playing career.

Doddie is now facing his biggest challenge. In June 2017 the Scot revealed he was suffering from Motor Neuron Disease. From the outset, Doddie has been driven to help fellow sufferers and seek ways to further research into this, as yet, incurable disease.

In November 2017 Doddie and his Trustees launched the registered charity My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. Its aims are simple: to raise funds to aid research into the causes of Motor Neuron Disease and investigate potential cures; to make grants to individuals suffering from MND, to enable them to live as fulfilled a life as possible.
