Port Charlotte 2002 14 Year Old Single Cask #1142 Single Cask Nation Description

Distilled at the Bruichladdich distillery on Islay, Port Charlotte is the heavily peated whisky that they produce. This release has been bottled by American based independent bottler, Single Cask Nation. The good friends, Joshua & Jason started the company 10 years ago and have grown to have a cult following in America with their releases selling out in just minutes!

Distilled in late 2002, this heavily peated expression has been laid down to mature in a single first fill Oloroso hogshead, for 14 years with there being just 264 bottles of this released as a US exclusive. This truly is a sherry monster - are you afraid of the dark?

Each winner of a bottle from Doddie's auction will receive two complimentary Glencairn glasses, branded with the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation logo (pictured on homepage)!

This bottle has been kindly donated by Joshua, Jason & Jess at Single Cask Nation.

Doddie Weir OBE is one of rugby’s most recognizable personalities. He earned 61 caps for Scotland during a successful playing career.

Doddie is now facing his biggest challenge. In June 2017 the Scot revealed he was suffering from Motor Neuron Disease. From the outset, Doddie has been driven to help fellow sufferers and seek ways to further research into this, as yet, incurable disease.

In November 2017 Doddie and his Trustees launched the registered charity My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. Its aims are simple: to raise funds to aid research into the causes of Motor Neuron Disease and investigate potential cures; to make grants to individuals suffering from MND, to enable them to live as fulfilled a life as possible.
