Distilled in Speyside at Glenallachie distillery, this release forms part of the distillery's Virgin Oak Series. This expression was put down to mature in oak for 15 years, initially in ex-bourbon barrels before spending the final portion of its maturation finishing in toasted Scottish virgin oak casks. Scottish oak is rarely used for whisky maturation due to its expense and tendency to knot. The whisky has then been bottled free from chill filtration and artificial colourings at a strength of 48% abv. Back to top
