Distilled in Speyside at Glenallachie distillery, this release forms part of the distillery's Virgin Oak Series. This expression was put down to mature in oak for 8 years, initially in American oak ex-bourbon casks before spending the final portion of its maturation finishing in virgin Scottish oak casks. Scottish oak is rarely used for whisky maturation due to its expense and tendency to knot. The whisky has then been bottled free from chill filtration and artificial colourings at a strength of 48% abv. Back to top
