This Speyside single malt is part of the much anticipated BenRiach single cask batch release. Distilled in September 1993 and matured in a rioja wine barrique for 25 years, this expression has been bottled in 2019 at a natural strength of 54.3% abv. Just 231 bottles have been produced.
The nose has chocolate and toasted hazelnut, with cherry cake, plum, baking spice and burnt vanilla meringue. The palate brings a bittersweet dark chocolate note with tangy blackberry compote, before black pepper and smoked plum in the finish.
