This Speyside single malt is part of the much anticipated BenRiach single cask batch release. Distilled from peated malt barley in January 2007 and matured in a rum cask for 12 years, this expression has been bottled in 2019 at a natural strength of 59.5% abv. Just 198 bottles have been produced.
The nose has Jamaican rum truffles and cocoa beans, coconut milk and chocolate cake, mingling with sea salt and star anise. The palate brings rum and raisin ice cream with cocoa beans and cappucino, before rum-laced espresso in the smooth finish.
