This Speyside single malt is part of the much anticipated BenRiach single cask batch release. Distilled in May 2008 and matured in an Oloroso sherry butt for 10 years, this expression has been bottled in 2019 at a natural strength of 61.4% abv. Just 634 bottles have been produced.
The nose has baked apricot and walnut cake with sweet demerara sugar, vanilla and some nutty notes. The palate is just as sweet with apricot bread and butter pudding, burnt raisin and dried fruits, before nutmeg and walnut in the long, smooth finish.
