House of Hazelwood
Scotch Whisky
For almost a century, the Gordon family have laid down stocks of Scotch whisky for personal consumption and special occasions in their Dufftown home, Hazelwood House. This once-private collection is now available outside the family – in small, hand-selected batches – as the House of Hazelwood range, a diverse selection of incredibly rare whiskies, spanning seven decades and every corner of Scotland.
About House of Hazelwood
The House of Hazelwood collection has become one of the greatest inventories of mature Scotch whisky anywhere in the world. Created over the span of one hundred years, the range tells the story of remarkable places, lost ways of working, first casks, last casks, the ambitions and achievements of several lifetimes – all of which are unrepeatable.
A process honed through the generations: fresh stocks have been laid down each year for almost 100 years.
Prior to bottling a small proportion of the finest stocks are held in House of Hazelwood's traditional dunnage warehousing near Dufftown.
It’s ready when it’s ready: releases are dictated by flavour, not by a given age or a given style on a set date.
History
Charles Gordon played a fundamental role in the story of House of Hazelwood, managing some of the earliest stocks laid down for the collection and much of the whisky in cask today. A legend within the Scotch whisky community, The Charles Gordon Collection is named in his honour and features whisky matured for at least fifty years.
The Legacy Collection showcases whiskies of exceptional character and provenance including firsts of their kind, last of their line, those capturing the spirit of an era, and some that offer insights into the inner workings of the Scotch whisky community.
