Not only that, to celebrate, we have a wonderful prize up for grabs. Noble Rebel is a fabulous new range of blended whiskies from Loch Lomond Distillery, each highlighting a key flavour profile in Scotch whisky: Orchard Outburst, Smoke Symphony and Hazelnut Harmony. We will select four lucky winners to take home the whole set, when purchasing a sweet and floral whisky from our selection by the 1st of May.

Indulge in a delightful dram to complement all of those daffodils, tulips and daisies sprouting across the land. Here are a few highlights of the selection: eight of the best spring-time expressions.

Lochlea Our Barley

New kid on the block, Lochlea's, first core single malt expression is a wonderfully fresh and complex dram. Matured in Ayrshire by production director, John Campbell, in three cask types - bourbon, Oloroso sherry and STR - Our Barley is a triumph of flavour with pear, fresh cut grass, macadamia nuts, orange and baked rye bread. A whisky reminiscent of a Springtime harvest festival.

Deanston Virgin Oak

Matured firstly in bourbon casks from a family-run Kentucky cooperage, this Highland single malt from Deanston distillery has been finished in fresh oak barrels to add subtle spicy aromas to the zesty character. The gorgeously sweet whisky boasts flavours of heather honey, barely sugar and vanilla bean, with touches of spicy oak. Delectable!

Mannochmore 12 Year Old

The delectable floral notes of this Speysider are rarely seen in single malt form, as Mannochmore's offerings are principally used in blends. This gorgeous expression, bottled as a part of Diageo's Flora and Fauna collection, explodes with Springtime flavour, with notes of freshly cut grass, fragrant carnations and wood spice. The profile is complicated by a buttery undertone, deepening the flavour.

Glen Moray 12 Year Old

This Speyside single malt from Glen Moray is aged in the finest American oak for 12 years, resulting in rich floral notes and vanilla toffee on the nose, with a palate full of toasted oak and summer fruits. An approachable and dependable, sweet and light whisky.

Miyagikyo

In the heart of a beautiful natural setting, the Miyagikyo distillery in Japan combines expertise and modernity in a constant search for finesse and elegance. Their signature single malt expression sings with flavours of rose water, vanilla bean, fresh carnations and oak. Smooth and delicious, light yet intense, this is a fine whisky to enjoy before a lovely outdoor meal.

Fettercairn 12 Year Old

Notably light and sweet, Fettercairn is a perfect example of a true Highland whisky. Distilled in the village of Fettercairn, near the Cairngorm mountains, this lush 12-year-old expression is matured in American oak ex-bourbon casks for its full maturation. The result is a light and fruity spirit, with notes of juicy nectarines and tropical fruits on the palate and a rich finish of sultanas and espresso. Lovely!

Noble Rebel Orchard Outburst

A part of an impressive new blended malt range from Loch Lomond whisky, Orchard Outburst is a fresh blend of citrus flavour and sea-side saltiness. Matured in ex-bourbon casks and distilled using white-wine yeast, the expression is zesty and complex with notes of apple, pears and lemon, mixing with hints of sweet and salted popcorn.

Balblair 12 Year Old

Matured in American oak, ex-bourbon and double-fired American oak casks, this 12-year-old expression from Balblair has an elegant complexity and warmth. The sweet Highland expression is "apples, pears and elderflower in a bottle", according to Phil, our manager at The Whisky Shop Manchester. What could be more Springtime than that?
