Coming Soon: BenRiach Single Cask Batch 13

BenRiach release twelve single cask offerings ranging from sixteen to forty years old
With classic Speyside style single malts, peated expressions, a wide range of cask finishes and a selection of ages from sixteen to forty years old, the latest batch of single cask releases from the BenRiach distillery is a richly varied offering. Each of the twelve expressions have been hand selected by Managing Director, Master Distiller and Entrepreneur of the Year, Billy Walker. Walker said “Our much-anticipated batches allow us to identify very special casks in our inventory and every single cask bottling is an exclusive limited release. I have selected these twelve casks because they are outstanding and full of personality.”
With batch 13, lucky for some, each release is individually hand-numbered, non chill-filtered, and bottled at natural colour. The oldest expression in the series is cask #7028, distilled in 1975 and aged for forty years in a sherry butt. The peated spirit is rich amber in colour, the nose bursting with tropical fruit and ripe banana, with hints of distant campfire embers. The palate has plum skins, dark raisins and hints of yellow pear with a robust peat reek. Vintage leather and old oak notes give this Speyside Single Malt a classic aged depth.
The youngest in the batch is cask #5043, a sixteen year old, distilled in 1999 and aged in an Oloroso sherry puncheon. The nose has fresh aromas of golden sultanas, candied peel and white pepper spice. The palate offers cinnamon-spiced honey and rum-soaked sultanas, with peppery oak and crisp green apples providing contrast.
