The Lakes distillery, of Cumbrian beauty spot The Lake District, present this complex and aromatic English single malt, released as part of their Whiskymaker’s Reserve series. The series is an artistic exploration of their sherry-led house style. The whiskymaker defines the architecture of each release as he unlocks infinite variables and never-ending flavour possibilities.

No. 6 was matured in the finest Oloroso, PX and red wine casks. At natural colour, and bottled at 52% abv. The expression boasts aromas of cardamom, lemongrass, cumin, ginger and rose water, which lead to sherried flavours of dates, fruit cake and five-spice. A spicy and rich finish closes the magnificent dram.

One of the most exciting new English distilleries: The Lakes have an artistic ethos, situated in the heart of The Lake District National Park. It claims that “the nature of their art is whisky, the inspiration of their art is nature” and, while they respect the traditional whisky-making process, their philosophy looks at not only what whisky is, but what whisky can be.
