Bunnahabhain have released these two fabulous drams in the run up to the festival - this means you can enjoy a little bit of Feis Ile even if you can't make it to Islay.

Bunnahabhain 1998 Calvados Cask Finish

A simply stunning special edition single malt. This 23-year-old dram is a particularly unique expression released to celebrate Feis Ile.

Initially matured for 21 years in ex-bourbon casks, this expression spent the last two years of its slumber in Calvados brandy casks. Bottled in 49.7% abv and free from both artificial colouring and chill filtration, the resulting dram is gentle, fruity, and delightfully sweet.

The nose opens with rich dates and candied pear, complemented by subtle floral hints. The pear continues in the palate, alongside dried fruit and cereal notes before leading into a dramatically spicy finish.

Bunnabhain Abhainn Araig

This expression is named after the Araig River which feeds into the Margadale River, which is Bunnahabhain's primary water source. The dram pays tribute to Bunnabhain, Islay, and all the water on the island that is absolutely crucial to the distillery's success.

This impressive single malt marries together whisky that had been matured in ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry octaves with spirit that has been matured in ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks. The resulting expression is particularly rich and sumptuous.

Bunnahabhain Abhainn Araig has been bottled at 50.8% abv and is free from chill filtration and artificial colouring. The well-balanced nose opens with ginger, milk chocolate, and tobacco. The chocolate continues in the palate, complemented by honey baked raspberries and macadamia nuts before moving into a particularly decadent finish full of cinnamon spiced toffee.
