This exceptional dram is available to members of The W Club from today and it will go on general sale tomorrow, Wednesday 3rd August. This is the third instalment of Fettercairn 16 Year Old and is a simply unmissable tipple.
"Each of our annual release 16 Year Old whiskies tell their own story reflected in the character and flavours of each of them," said Stewart Walker, Fettercairn's Distillery Manager. Matured in a combination of first fill and second fill Oloroso, Pedro Ximenez, and ex-bourbon casks personally selected by Fettercairn's Master Whisky Maker Gregg Glass, this is an intensely flavoured single malt. Bottled at 46.4% abv, this expression is full of the distillery's signature tropical character.
The nose has aged oak, golden syrup, tropical fruits, and figs. The palate brings dark chocolate, baking spices, all-butter pastry, and plenty of fresh vanilla before moving into the satisfying finish full of espresso, spicy ginger, and apple pie.
Founded in 1824 by Sir Alexander Ramsay, Fettercairn has been carving its own path in the whisky industry for almost 200 years. Unafraid to go against the grain, the distillery is determined to keep pushing forward and continue to test the limits of whisky making.
