New In: Kingsbarns Balcomie Cask Strength

This outstanding limited edition sees the acclaimed Kingsbarns Balcomie release bottled at a mighty cask strength of 59.9% abv. Distilled at the family owned Kingsbarns distillery in East Neuk, Fife, this Lowland single malt is made using local barley and matured for the full duration in ex-Oloroso American Oak sherry butts. This limited edition release boasts a natural chestnut colour and free from chill filtration. This is a particularly well-balanced and refined sherry-matured single malt. On the nose, there is maple syrup, fruitcake, and butterscotch. The palate is sweet with pineapple and cinnamon sugar before finishing up with milk chocolate, toasted hazelnuts, and crystallised ginger. Kingsbarns, a family-owned distillery, is one to keep your eye on. Founded by the Wemyss family, they converted an almost derelict farmstead into a impressive and particularly picturesque whisky distillery. Their water is sourced from an aquifer that has been purified by sandstone rock. Their barley is locally sourced in Fife and is of the Laureate variety.
