The Octave Glenrothes 2009 12 Year Old

This stunning Glenrothes expression has spent twelve years maturing in oak casks before being finished in an octave for seven months. It was bottled in 2022 by Duncan Taylor exclusively for The Whisky Shop at 55.2% abv. This is an exceptionally rare single cask expression with just 81 bottles produced.

The nose is wonderfully sweet with chocolate buttons, macaroon, and toasted marshmallows. This sweetness continues in the palate which is full of apricot, candyfloss, and red apples. The finish is surprising with notes of cinnamon, ginger, and raisins appearing.

An unforgettable Bunnahabhain. Part of Gordon & MacPhail's Discovery range, this is a ten-year-old single malt whisky that is bound to impress. Full of coastal influences, this expression was bottled at 43% abv.

Expect aromas of salty sea air, fudge, and vanilla on the nose. The palate brings powerful smoke and plenty of citrus peel before leading into the bold and satisfying finish.

This fabulously rich expression has been enhanced by a second maturation for three years in Portuguese port casks. The result is wonderfully fruity and spicy with big, dramatic flavours.

The nose offers rich aromas of cherry blossom, milk chocolate, and juicy blackberries. On the palate, there are notes of ginger snaps, autumnal spices, and baked apple. The finish is particularly sumptuous with notes of cinnamon and chocolate appearing at the close.

1770 Glasgow Peated

Distilled at the Glasgow Distillery Co., 1770 Peated Release No.1 is both the first peated addition to the company's range, and the first peated single malt to be produced in Glasgow. Distilled from Highland barley smoked with heather-rich peat, using the exceptionally pure waters of Loch Katrine, this expression is matured in first fill sherry casks and finished in virgin oak before bottling at a strength of 46% abv.

The nose has aromatic peat and creamy caramel. The palate brings burnt orange zest, heather, toffee and earthy fruits. The finish is long and smooth with a touch of spice and macadamia nuts.

Glen Scotia 18 Year Old

This 18-year-old single malt was distilled at Campbeltown's Glen Scotia distillery before beginning its maturation in refill bourbon casks and refill American oak hogsheads. The finest casks were then hand-selected by the Malt Master to be vatted together in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks for a period of 12 months.

The nose has perfumed floral notes with thick, sweet toffee and a crisp Campbeltown saltiness. The palate has a rich and deep vanilla fruit character with apricot and pineapple amidst rich sultanas. The finish is long and dry with a gentle, warming spice.

An elegant dram with a kick. This Tobermory 2004 Oloroso Cask Matured is a vivid and striking single malt. A demonstration of Hebridean island artistry, this expressive single malt was distilled in 2004 and spent 17 years maturing in Oloroso sherry casks. A small batch release of 11,124 bottles, this is free from chill filtration and colouring. Arriving at a punchy 55.9% abv, this is a proper sherry cask whisky. Arriving in bespoke packaging, this is a stand-out limited-edition release from Tobermory.

The nose is packed with toffee, caramel, almonds, and blackcurrants, with a little wisp of spice. Rose petals, mango, walnuts, dark cherry, and creamy toffee is balanced out with toasted oak and hints of leather. The finish is dry, nutty, and with a kick of spice.
