Famous for its unpeated Islay whisky, Bunnahabain has excelled itself again. This rare, limited-release single malt is one that will take pride and place in any collection. Aged for 19 years after being distilled in 2001, this one has been maturing on the spectacular Sound of Islay, the fresh sea air giving this expression a real depth of character. This expression has been bottled at an eye-watering cask strength of 56.5% abv.
Part of The Character of Islay Whisky Company’s Stories of Wind & Wave Series, this is an expression that will transport your senses to the coast. Aromas of fudge, dried fruit, and sweetness are on the nose. The palate gives a wider variety of dried fruits, giving notes of redcurrants, prunes, and a little twist of velvety chocolate. On the finish is an oily caramel, with a hint of ginger. A celebration of the Islay distilleries and their particularly first-rate whiskies.
