Part of the Diageo Special Releases 2016 collection, this limited edition bottling of Caol Ila was distilled in 2000 from a batch made only once a year from unpeated malt. Matured in refill American oak hogsheads and refill European oak butts for 15 years, limited quantities are available of this Islay Single Malt worldwide.The nose is delicate with fresh green apple above a soft toffee and malt layer, before a maritime influence and citrus emerge. The palate is powerful at natural cask strength with a sweet overall taste along with notes of menthol, fruit and lots of malt and toffee. The finish is warming with menthol and eucalyptus. Established in 1846, Caol Ila translates as "Sound of Islay" or literally "Islay Strait" in reference to its position overlooking the strait between Islay and Jura. The distillery was completely demolished in 1972, only to be rebuilt with a larger capacity and reopened two years later in 1974. Back to top

Returns

If your item is damaged in transit or you receive an item that is clearly different to that ordered, we will arrange for a return via courier and issue a full refund.

To be eligible for a full refund you must contact us to inform us of any issue within 24 hours of receipt. Refunds will be credited back to your original payment method once we have received the returned items.

Please note that any personalised, bespoke or made-to-order items, or items with a broken seal, are non-refundable unless faulty.

Cancellations

If you wish to cancel your order, you must do so within 14 days from the day you received delivery. Items that are bespoke or personalised cannot be cancelled, and will only be returnable if faulty.

In the event of cancellation, the cost of returning your items will be your responsibility and not that of The Whisky Shop. Items must be returned within 14 days from the date of cancellation. Refunds will be processed on receipt of the items.
