Cask Strength Whisky

This term is used to describe a whisky which has been bottled at the alcohol by volume (abv) level that the liquid has naturally lowered to during maturation, without being diluted further. This is typically in the region of 60-65% abv. It is common to add a droplet of water when drinking these whiskies straight, as each drop reveals another layer of flavour.
