This Highland single malt was distilled in 1996 at Ben Nevis distillery, nestled in the foothills of the UK's highest mountain. After 22 years in a single sherry butt, this expression was bottled in 2019 by family-run independent bottler Hunter Laing & Co. as part of the First Editions series. Only 34 bottles have been filled at a strength of 50% abv, higher than the usual strength of the First Editions series.
The nose is sweet with blackcurrant and raisin, drizzled with golden syrup and toffee. The palate has strawberry and honey with malted barley, before a long and peppery finish.
