This Kentucky straight bourbon is part of the much-loved Antique Collection from Buffalo Trace. Named for a pioneer of the bourbon industry, George T Stagg is matured in new white oak barrels, charred to level 4, and aged for at least 15 years before bottling at a barrel-proof strength of 58.45% abv. This release was distilled in 2004 and bottled in 2019.
The nose is sweet with vanilla and berries. The palate brings rich dark chocolate covered toffee and vanilla fudge, with sweet nougat and molasses, before a note of tobacco and coffee emerges in the long and lingering finish.
