Another top tier, and particularly rare celebration of one of Scotland’s lesser known distilleries. This is a 44-year-old single malt from the Glen Grant Distillery. Released as part of the Private Collection series by Gordon & Macphail, this single malt was distilled in November 1976 and bottled in March 2021. Aged in a refill American hogshead, this is a rich, full, unique dram. Only 40 bottles exist of this cask, making it incredibly rare to find.
On the nose, tropical aromas arise with honeycomb, coconut, vanilla, and dried banana. The palate is rich, with sweet fruit it coming to the fore along with Seville orange, almonds, and grapefruit. The finish is decadent, full, and long with lingering citrus and toasted hazelnuts.
