This is an exemplary single malt, the Rolls Royce of the Glenfiddich range. The Glenfiddich Malt Master handpicked some of the oldest casks in the world. A yearly release of 1000 bottles, each one is complemented with a leather bound book telling its specific 40 year long story. This expression matured in Ozark Mountain American Oak, in a combination of sherry and bourbon casks. with hand-signed certification by the longest-serving craftsperson.
The nose is wonderfully rich, with dried fruits, dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and ripe black cherries lusciously combining. The palate is silky smooth, with intense dried fruit notes followed by stewed apples and dry oak. The finish is outstandingly long, complex. A sensational dram.
