As authentic an Isle of Raasay single malt as you can find anywhere. This is the second batch of the signature expression from the Isle of Raasay Distillery. The main components of this are two spirits, one peated and one unpeated. They are matured separately in first fill Rye whiskey, fresh Chinkapin oak, and first fill Bordeaux red wine casks. The overall profile is that of a lightly peated dram, with rich dark fruit components. Free from chill filtration, this whisky is bottled at 46.4% abv and arrives with a natural colour.
On the nose you can find slightly medicinal aromas, alongside a recognizable peatiness. The palate is sweet, peppery, with a slight salty salinity. The finish is of medium length, and continues a vibrant smokiness.
