This limited release brought to you from the Kilchoman Distillery has taken its inspiration from Loch Gorm, the very dark and peaty waters located to the north of the distillery, similar to the dark rich colour of this sherry cask matured single malt.
Part of the Kilchoman range since it was first introduced in 2012, the Loch Gorm releases are unique as they are matured exclusively in Oloroso sherry casks from the farm distillery. Exclusively matured in oloroso sherry casks this whisky takes strong flavour influences from the cask that it has been aged in.
The nose is bursting with notes of dried fig, orange peel and sea salt that run alongside quite hints of bacon, cinnamon and oak spice. Sweet flavours of plums, chocolate and salted caramel dance across the palate alongside a wet peat smoke flavour that adds the perfect balance to the malt. The finish teases flavours of cooked apples and dark chocolate before finishing on a dramatic burst of barbeque smoke.
With only 15,000 bottles released this single cask bottling is sure to fly off the shelf.
