This 27 year old Lowland single malt comes from the now lost distillery of Littlemill in Bowling on the banks of the River Clyde near Glasgow. The last drops of liquid from the distillery continue to mature under the watchful eye of master blender Michael Henry. Henry has selected eight casks that were filled between the 11th and 29th of May 1990 in homage to the lighter, floral spirit that was a hallmark of the days when triple distillation was the norm at the distillery. Matured for a full 26 years in refill bourbon casks and married together for 12 months in fresh bourbon barrels before bottling at a cask strength of 51.3% abv.

This rare Lowland single malt is limited to just 500 bottles worldwide, each one individually numbered and presented in an opulent display case alongside a miniature of the precious liquid and a unique piece of the cask used during maturation.

Tasting notes from Master Blender Michael Henry:
Nose: Green herbal notes of peppermint and eucalyptus lead into natural perfumed floral bursts of honeysuckle and lavender. Cedar wood elements give structure.
Palate: Vibrant fruit is prominent with a background subtle sweet character. Mouth-watering crisp green apple, zesty grapefruit and tart juicy pineapple are followed by green tea notes and a delicate clover honey sweetness.
Finish: Warming spice of stem ginger and nutmeg liven the tongue before a long peppermint and sugar syrup finish.

Awarded 93/100 in Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2019, and described as "a malt which is the matured embodiment of grace and finesse”.
Officially founded by George Buchan of Glasgow in 1772, on the site of a former brewery in Bowling on the banks of the River Clyde, Littlemill was the oldest distillery in Scotland. Despite its provenance as an elder of the industry, Littlemill had a chequered past, being mothballed twice in its lifetime before eventually silencing its stills for good in 1994 when its owners went bankrupt. The grand dame of distilling was then purchased by the Loch Lomond Group, owners of Loch Lomond and Glen Scotia distilleries, but hope of a revival did not last with the remnants of the distillery being dismantled in 1997 and finally, in 2004, a fire ravaged the remainder of the buildings, bringing Littlemill distillery’s story to an end.
