Legend goes this cocktail was invented in honour of Winston Churchill's mother, Lady Randolph Churchill. Dating to the Manhattan Club, New York, in 1874, this classic American aperitif was originally crafted with rye whiskey, but is now more commonly served with bourbon. Many variations exist, but the classic Manhattan consists of whiskey, vermouth and Angostura bitters, garnished with a maraschino cherry.
For our take on the classic Manhattan, we've paired Eagle Rare 10 Year Old Kentucky straight bourbon with Martini Rosso sweet vermouth, Angostura bitters and a twist on the classic cherry garnish with a cherry syrup.
- 50ml whiskey
