Nikka from the Barrel Description

This Japanese blend combines multiple types of malt and grain whisky that Nikka reserves and marries them in used casks for between 3 and 6 months to allow the elements to stabilise and harmonise. Bottled at 51.4% abv, this is a rich and strong blend that delivers flavour by the barrel.

Nikka founder Masataka Taketsuru studied organic chemistry at the University of Glasgow and malt whisky production at Hazelburn Distillery during the 1910's. Today, Nikka operates a number of distilleries in Japan and owns the Ben Nevis Distillery in Scotland.
