A pot still rum from Ninefold Distillery, Lockerbie in Scotland. Bottled by the highly-renowned That Boutique-y Rum Company, the only ingredient that is not found locally is the imported molasses (which you would be hard-pressed to find growing in Scotland, to be fair). This one is matured for 17 months in virgin oak casks, and is limited to 145 bottles, all presented at 59.4% abv. A first-rate, first batch rum.
Vanilla, sultanas, butterscotch, and maple syrup arrive on the nose, the palate is soft and sweet with notes of caramel, biscuit and dates. The finish has lingering, long notes of black tea, fresh ginger, and a kick of dried spice.
