A 1978 Port Ellen single malt Scotch whisky from the independant bottler, Hunter Laing. Port Ellen is one of the most renowned and saught after distilleries in Scotland, since it fell silent in 1983. This expression was distilled at the Islay distillery in September 1978 and aged in a refill butt until October 2013, when it was bottled at 35 years old. There are only 231 bottles in existance, making this an extremely collectable whisky.
A rich and peaty nose, with sweetness coming through upon tasting. A lovely moth feel with honey and more peat smoke, which leads to a long and rich finish, with thick honey.
