About Auchroisk

Despite its imposing white modernist structure, Auchroisk draws its waters from the ancient Dorries Well, where they arrive via granite bedrock and a layer of softening sandstone to ultimately lend the whisky its subtle, smooth character.

Auchroisk wasn’t bottled as a single malt until 1986, instead forming the signature profile of many popular blended whiskies. It was released under Diageo’s Flora and Fauna range in 2001, then subsequently as one of the Rare Malts collection in 2003 and remains a cult favourite in this capacity.

History

Auchroisk was founded in 1972 with a goal to produce whiskies to be included in J&B blends. However, before long the distillery started to produce their own expressions. In 1997, the distillery was purchased by Diageo.
