Teaninich 43 Year Old Platinum Old & Rare description
Distilled at Teaninich in 1975, this Highland single malt has been matured for 43 years in a single cask before being specially selected and bottled for the Heritage series in the Platinum Old & Rare Selection from respected independent bottler, Hunter Laing & Co. of Glasgow. Limited to just 246 bottles, this expression has been bottled at a natural cask strength of 40.2% abv free from chill filtration and artificial colouring.
Hunter Laing & Co. traces its origins to 1949 when Frederick Laing founded his whisky blending business, Douglas Laing, in Glasgow. Current owner Stewart Laing joined his father's business in 1964, helping to develop the company's brands, joined in 1973 by his brother Fred. In 1998, the company introduced The Old Malt Cask series of single cask single malt whiskies, followed by the Platinum Old & rare Selection in 2001. Hunter Laing & Co. was formally established in 2013 when Stewart Laing parted ways with his brother, Fred, and began working with his sons Andrew and Scott.
