The Last Drop Buffalo Trace 1982 Description
Part of the 'Extremely Rare' range from The Last Drop Distillers, this single cask Kentucky Straight Bourbon was distilled at the Buffalo Trace distillery in 1982 and filled to a virgin charred white oak barrel where it matured for at least 18 years. Discovered years later by The Last Drop Distillers, this parcel of bourbon produced just 44 bottles at a strength of 45% abv in 2018. Each bottle is accompanied by a 5cl miniature, a custom-made stopper, a luxury tasting book and a signed certificate of authenticity, all presented in a luxury leather case.Drew Mayville, Buffalo Trace Master Distiller, described this release: 'The nose is nothing short of exquisite. Its seductive softness is accented by a rich toffee-like, honeyed vanilla, and candied ripe fruits with undertones of oak. Sophisticated with an extraordinary richness and butteriness with layers of apple, pecans, ripened pear, dark Belgian chocolate, caramel and a kiss of black cherries. This remarkable whiskey transitions to a memorable finish of dried dark fruit with delightful lingering oak. All the time knowing that you're tasting history as you enjoy the last drops. This truly is a once in a lifetime taste experience.'
Buffalo Trace is one of the oldest and most renowned distilleries in Kentucky, winning countless award including Distiller of the Year a record five times. Over 110,000 barrels are produced at the distillery every year.
