This 1969 single cask whisky from the Glenrothes distillery has been brought to us as part of a two-cask release from The Last Drop company. Filled to cask number 16203 (an ex-bourbon wood cask) on the 27th of October 1969, this liquid spent nearly 50 years mellowing, maturing and taking influence from the staves of this cask to create a wonderfully luxurious single malt whisky. The colour of the whisky is a pale amber that is proof of the influence of its ex-bourbon cask home has given it. The nose of the whisky is dry, with notes of beeswax. The incredible smooth feel of the whisky fills the palate along with deep flavours vanilla and juicy barley that eventually turn to long spicy finish. Each elegant bottle comes with a beautiful leather-bound book and replica 5cl, kept within a stunning display case.
