The latest single cask limited edition from the Loch Fyne Whiskies range, this Speyside single malt from Craigellachie distillery is limited to just 990 bottles. Distilled in 2008 and bottled in October 2020, this expression has spent 12 years in a single sherry cask before being bottled at 59% abv.
Initial aromas are quite dry, with notes of sandpaper, matchboxes and dried flowers; the nose develops with time, first offering plums and damson jam, then a burst of fresh fruits, peaches, apricot and stewed apple. The first sip offers a sweet palate with gentle spices, golden syrup, pear drops and a touch of pineapple, then black pepper brings those spices to the fore but on a sweet base reminiscent of rich pudding wine. There's a great depth to its finish, warm with pepper and nutmeg, and a touch of charcoal.
Please note: Our Loch Fyne Whiskies products are presented in handmade glass bottles. Due to their handmade nature, these bottles can show small imperfections such as grooves and seams in the glass.
