Vodka

Vodka can be made from a variety of raw ingredients, most commonly grain and potato. It originates from Poland and Russia where it was primarily used for medicinal reasons - often flavoured with herbs or spices to cover the poor taste. Today it is a different story. Vodka is now filtered multiple times for extra purity, with the aim of creating a neutral, colourless spirit. Vodka is commonly used in cocktails such as the Cosmopolitan, Martini or Bloody Mary, or alternatively sipped neat and directly from the freezer.
