The second release from Bannow Island, edition 1.2 was distilled using barley grown by Ed Harpur on the extreme Southern coast of Co. Wexford. This expression was matured in a combination of first-fill American oak, virgin oak and French oak casks for four months longer than Bannow Island 1.1.
The nose has a malty sweetness, with ripe orchard fruits, sultanas and floral notes. Fruity notes continue into the palate, which becomes sweet with honey, caramel, biscuits and a hint of spice. Expect a long and oily finish, with a kick of spice that turns dry.
