Yellow Spot Whiskey was last seen in Ireland in the 1950s and 60s but recently reintroduced.

Created and sold by Mitchell & Son Wine and Spirit Merchants, Yellow Spot is a 12 year old single pot still whiskey made using three different cask types - American Bourbon barrels, Spanish sherry butts and Spanish Malaga casks resulting in a superbly complex whiskey with fresh and sweet top notes.

Yellow Spot was originally part of Mitchell & Son Wine Merchant’s ‘Spot’ range of whiskeys which included Blue, Green, Yellow and Red Spot.

The Mitchell’s would mark their maturing casks with spot of coloured paint to determine the aging potential of that particular cask of whiskey, which gave rise to the names of the bottled whiskies. Blue Spot was an 8 year old, Green a 10, Yellow a 12 and Red Spot a 15 year old.
