Glenlivet Alpha Description
Distilled at the Glenlivet distillery in Speyside, when Alpha was released, there was no information regarding the liquid released...until all the bottles had been sold. There were 3,500 bottles produced worldwide with just 600 of those in the UK. Once all the bottles had been sold, there were online challenges to gain the information about this release with there being a video of master distiller, Alan Winchester, in June 2013 to reveal it had been entirely matured in ex-Scotch whisky casks.
