Kilchoman 2007 11 Year Old Single Cask #423 Distillery Shop Exclusive Description

Distilled at the Kilchoman distillery on Islay, which has been famous for being Islay's Farm Distillery with their barley fields stretching west to the shores of Machir Bay. Distilled in late 2007, this expression was matured in a single sherry butt for a little over 11 years before just 633 bottles were produced exclusively for the distillery at a strength of 54% abv. Free from chill-filtration and artificial colouring.

Fun fact: Doddie is a farm man himself! His farm in the Scottish Borders spans 300 acres of Bluecairn on the edge of the village of Blainslie, with views looking south to Melrose and Galashiels.

Each winner of a bottle from Doddie's auction will receive two complimentary Glencairn glasses, branded with the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation logo (pictured on homepage)!

This bottle has been kindly donated by George Wills of Kilchoman.

Doddie Weir OBE is one of rugby’s most recognizable personalities. He earned 61 caps for Scotland during a successful playing career.

Doddie is now facing his biggest challenge. In June 2017 the Scot revealed he was suffering from Motor Neuron Disease. From the outset, Doddie has been driven to help fellow sufferers and seek ways to further research into this, as yet, incurable disease.

In November 2017 Doddie and his Trustees launched the registered charity My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. Its aims are simple: to raise funds to aid research into the causes of Motor Neuron Disease and investigate potential cures; to make grants to individuals suffering from MND, to enable them to live as fulfilled a life as possible.
