Both these single malts were distilled at the Springbank distillery in Campbeltown on the Kintyre peninsula. The Springbank, distilled in 2002 was matured for the first 14 years in a combination of both bourbon & rum barrels. It was laid down in a Madeira hogshead for three years before there was just 9,200 bottles produced. Longrow is the range of heavily peated whiskies that they produce. The Longrow is double distilled which has been laid down to mature for over two decades in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks before being bottled free from chill filtration and artificial colouring.
