Kilchoman Am Bùrach Description
Distilled at Islay's farm distillery, Kilchoman, this release get its name 'Am Brùach' from the Gaelic for 'The Mess'. This gets its name from an incident that happened in 2014 where, accidentally, a cask of nine year old Machir Bay which is matured in bourbon & sherry casks and a 2014 port matured Kilchoman were combined together meaning this is a one off, never to be repeated. Once they had been combined, the casks was filled back in bourbon barrels for a further six years ahead a six month finish in ruby port casks. It has been bottled in 2020 at a strength of 46% abv. free from chill filtration and artificial colouring. Back to top
