Introducing Whiskeria Autumn Issue
For our cover feature, we explored the whisky highlights of Scotland's Capital with A Place In The Sun's Danni Menzies! She takes us through ten hotspots of Auld Reekie where you can enjoy a dram, from cosy restaurant The Palmerston to the sensory sensation that is Johnnie Walker Princes Street. A former resident of Edinburgh, Danni delighted in showing us old favourites, as well as newly opened gems. With the Fringe Festival coming up, a whisky escape off the beaten path will be a welcome retreat.
Noble Rebel presents familiar favourites with unexpected twists in our Mixing It Up cocktail feature. Simple enough to make yourself at home, excite your guests at your Indian Summer BBQ with a Citrus New Fashioned or Symphony Spritz. The photoshoot took place at SWG3 in Glasgow, alongside imagery created by graffiti artist, Aroe.
In our Whisky People feature, we highlight the endeavours of The Whisky Shop staff: Minnie Parminter and Lynsey Edmunds. They are recipients of the Scott Dunn Award, a prize founded in remembrance of the much-missed manager of our Inverness shop, who passed away suddenly in 2021. The award is presented to support winners in an entrepreneurial pursuit, with Minnie purchasing a still to craft Copper Lion Gin, and Lynsey creating Lukenbooth Larder Tablet.
We made our way to the brand-new distillery on Islay, Ardnahoe, for our Distillery Visit feature. Guest Writer Kristiane Sherry discovers why the distillery links the Laing family's past, present and future. Ardnahoe caused much excitement among staff and customers alike, when they launched their inaugural whisky back in May.
As well as all of this great stuff, you'll find an update on our new rewards programme from W Club Manager, Luke, The Macallan Auctions highlights from Auctions Head, Christoffer, and more reviews from Katie Puckrik and Charles MacLean!
If you are a member of The W Club, you will receive a copy of the magazine to your door, otherwise: head to your local Whisky Shop from Monday 12th August to pick up your issue.
